Frequently Asked Questions
  • Why me? Because I. Get. It.

I know how hard it is to juggle nap schedules, snack demands, and last-minute wardrobe meltdowns. My sessions aren’t just about taking pretty pictures—they’re about creating a relaxed, easygoing space where your family feels seen, celebrated, and comfortable being exactly who they are.

Meltdowns? They’re inevitable. And while they might feel stressful in the moment, they often lead to the snuggliest, most love-filled images. I’ll guide you through it all—turning chaos into connection and capturing the kind of photos that’ll make you feel something every time you look at them.

Oh, and did I mention? I have the patience of a saint, a bag of tricks (music, bubbles, games—you name it), and an endless supply of dad jokes to keep things light. So don’t worry—I’ve got you.

  • Outdoor sessions take place at sunrise or sunset for the best golden light.

In-home newborn sessions are completely flexible and guided by your little one. We typically start mid-morning and take our time, working around feeds, changes, and cuddles.

  • I keep a close eye on the forecast and will make the final call if we need to reschedule. If the skies are just a little moody, we can embrace it for cozy, atmospheric photos! But if it’s looking too wild, we’ll find a new date that works.

  • If you or your little one aren’t feeling well, please let me know as soon as possible so we can reschedule. Since I work closely with newborns and their families, keeping everyone healthy is a top priority.

  • I recommend soft, neutral tones and avoiding bold patterns, logos, or anything too busy. Instead of matching, opt for complementary colours that feel cohesive.

Need help? Send me your outfit ideas, and I’ll guide you! Plus, when you inquire, I’ll send over my Welcome Guide with more styling tips.

  • The best time is whenever you feel your best! For most, that’s the second trimester, usually between 30–36 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round but before any unexpected early arrivals.

  • Absolutely! Siblings, partners—anyone who makes up your little world—are more than welcome. These moments are just as special for them, and capturing that love and excitement together is what it’s all about

  • Newborn sessions are all about comfort, connection, and those tiny, fleeting details. I’ll capture moments with both parents, siblings, and of course, plenty of solo shots of your newest love.

To keep baby cozy and content, I recommend dressing them in just a nappy with a warm blanket or wrap for easy outfit changes. Those dreamy, milk-drunk snuggles? That’s what we’re aiming for.

We’ll take breaks as needed—whether for feeds, changes, or just some extra cuddles. There’s no rush, no stress—just a relaxed, natural session led entirely by your little one.

One small tip: Clean, natural nails! Your hands will be in plenty of close-ups, so if painted nails are your thing, now’s a great time to refresh them.

  • Newborn sessions are typically best within 6–10 days of birth when babies are still super sleepy and curled up. But life happens! If that window doesn’t work, we’ll book as close as possible and roll with whatever stage your little one is at.

Just keep me posted on your due date, and once your baby arrives, we’ll lock in a time that works for you.

  • Yes! I bring a selection of wraps, blankets, headbands, and simple, natural props—but if you have sentimental items you’d love to include, I’d love to use them too!

  • Yes! I understand how much of an investment a photography session is, please reach out and we will discuss a payment plan to suit your needs.

  • I know you’re excited to see your photos (and trust me, I’m just as excited for you!). The usual turnaround time is 2-3 weeks, but during peak times, it may extend to 4 weeks. Rest assured, I work hard to get your gallery to you as soon as possible—because I know how special these moments are!

  • I have a handpicked selection of stunning outdoor locations across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, and the Central Coast. From golden beaches to dreamy bushland, I know all the best spots for capturing warm, emotive, and light-filled images. If you have a location that’s special to your family, let me know—I’d love to make it work!

  • Yes! Whether it’s grandparents, cousins, or the whole crew, I absolutely offer extended family sessions. Just let me know:
✔️ How many people will be involved
✔️ Smaller family groupings you’d like captured
    ✔️ Any must-have shots

From there, I’ll create a custom package to ensure we capture all the love and connection across generations.

  • For locations within Sydney or further afield, there may be a travel fee of $50–$80, depending on distance and tolls. Let me know where you’d like your session, and I’ll confirm any additional costs upfront—no surprises, just beautiful photos in a location you love.
