Why This Works
Here's what I actually do during sessions: I'll tell your 4-year-old a terrible joke to get a real laugh, not a fake smile. I'll notice when your partner touches your back without thinking. I'll wait for the moment your baby grabs your finger—even if it takes 10 minutes.
I bring a calm presence, especially when kids are unpredictable or energy is high. I guide when needed and disappear when it matters.

A Bit About Me
I'm Nic, and I'm in the trenches with you. I've got an almost 4 year old and another baby on the way. I know about sleepless nights, big emotions, and the worry that your kids won't cooperate for photos.
Before photography, I spent 16 years as an Early Childhood Teacher — so when it comes to kids being unpredictable, I'm not rattled. I'm ready.
That's why I photograph families. Because I know just how fast this goes, and I know how easy it is to put it off until you 'look better' or the kids are 'easier'.
But your kids don't care what you look like. They want to remember exactly how you were, right now, in this moment, before everything changes.
One day you'll want to remember how this felt. The weight of them in your arms, the sound of their laugh, the way they looked at you. I document that for you, so you don't have to wait for perfect to preserve what matters.
I also know what it's like when everyone's watching and you're supposed to 'act natural'. It's impossible.
So I don't ask you to. I create space for your family to just exist, and I document what happens. That's it.

Common Questions
What if my kids don't cooperate?
They don't need to. Some of my best photos happen when kids are being completely themselves. I'm not looking for obedience, I'm looking for connection.
We're awkward in photos. Will this work for us?
That's exactly who this works best for. I don't ask you to pose or suddenly "be natural" on command. Instead, I give you simple things to do - walk together, play with your kids, sit close - and the rest happens on its own.
What should we wear?
Whatever feels like you. Coordinated, not matching. Comfortable, not sloppy. I'll send you a style guide after you book that makes it easy.
How long until we get our photos?
3-4 weeks. I take my time with editing to make sure every image is right. Quick enough that you're still in this moment when you see them.
Where do sessions take place?
Wherever your family feels most at home. I photograph across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens — beaches, bushland, parks, or your own backyard.
